After new saloon cars for the emperor and the empress as well as new entourage cars had been purchased for the Royal train since 1902, several Royal train cars of the 1st generation (empress car 2, standby waggon 11 for the emperor, Royal kitchen car 8, entourage cars 3-5) as well as the entourage car 4A for ladies (2nd generation) got dispensable from 1907 on. They got handed over to the KPEV, which drived them from now on as sleeping cars (3, 5, 5(at first)), as semi dining cars (5(later), 8) and as saloon cars (2, 11, 4A). In the 1920s, the former entourage cars 3 and 5 and Royal kitchen car 8 had been taken over by Mitropa.
